Surf Vehicles
How you get you surfboard to the beach is always a very important part of surfing itself. You need a vehicle that going to get you on your safari with the ability to carrry mutiple boards and look cool while doing it! I certainly enjoyed my vehicles throughout myt lifetime and hope to share few memories of each.
The Bronco Sport!
My best friend Steve has always called my sporty among of course many other things. I've been waitng for the new Bronco to come out and held off turning in my Ford F150 months ago just so I could so when the Bronco came out. They arrived a local dealers on Jan1, 2021. I was all in!
I purchased my Big Bend Bronco after some wraggling at Empire Ford in New Bedford. I love the bold look and the whilte contrast with the black molding looks pissah!!!! Back windows flip up for boards to go in and fits a 8 footer all the way in with seats down so you can lock up and leave in car for party time a the Comah!!! Several modes for drivng off road and on with the Sort mode being the funnest taking the car up to high revs as your cruising around town.
What hurts is I first sold my 1967 Sprint Model Mustang with awesome orginal vintage burgundy patina. Sacriledge!! I'm still crying about it somewhat but I have owned over ten mustangs in my lifetime so I'll get over it. I also have an 89 Mustand in Myrtle so ... Now the car worked fine and while needing a total repaint it was 100% driveable.
It sold for $8500 which was great for my down payment and along with what little I'd get for Big Ford F150 crusier the I drove almost all of its 130,000 miles on the highway either on the way to work in Sandwich, the Outer Beaches of Cape Cod, or heading for the house in Myrtle.
I'm thinking about replacing the mustang in Myrtle with a Ranchero of mid to late 70's style. Or just buy a second Bronco so I'm always bucki ng the tide.
I've been driving my Bronco for the last 2 months I've gone over 5,000 miles people can't believe it just in 2 months
I've given myself to Newport up to New Hampshire skiing in Vermont and of course up and down the backside of the cape to all the beaches
The Old "Bucking"Bronco
I cant't belive I owned and then actually sold this Bronco! In the summer of 2007, I made a barter with a local guy I knew from our sons playing pbaeball and hockey to do a wood shingle roof for the Bronco. It would actually take me months to finish. I remeber it was late December and I was finally finshing up the front of the front of the house. I had been a bigger job than I thought. The 91 Special annivesary Edtion Bronco was out of this world with its powerful motor, leather two tone interior and plush carpets. The top came off and it was the ultimate BEACH MACHINE. I took it four wheeling maybe twice and everytime everyone could beleive it! At the COMAH it would get front row parking everytime. And them about 3 months into driving it suddenly it became the bucking Bronco with the car seeemibly turning on and off and litterlly bucking down the highway. Aftermarket ignition work had been done to before I bought it and it seemed to burn out and the bucking would start. I kept the vehicle for several years with the problem recurring every so often. I towed it home for its final time in the winter of 2013 after it wouldn't start at work in the cold. I was pressured tos ell for some $$$$ we need for bills so it was a quick sale and gone in a night. I t woyukd start I told the guy but yiu woudl onky fget a haklf hiur in befroe the bucking would start. I think he got to thebridge befro he had to pull over and get it otowd home to hi shkme off cape. The new owner retuend one day with the Bronc to tel lmw what he had actuall ey need to odo to fic the pribvelm hwich nvold lots of $$$$. Loved her, rode her, got a new one now!!!
